A Broadcasting Equipment Checklist for Your First Studio

Studio Setup · September 30, 2026 · 6 min read

Start with what you hear

Your first purchases should serve the sound. A microphone, a way to connect it, and headphones you can trust will do more than any decoration or extra gadget.

The audio chain

Microphone, cable, interface or mixer, computer and headphones. If you use a USB microphone, the interface and cable drop out of the list.

Then the extras

Add a boom arm, pop filter and a spare cable. Once audio is solid, move on to lighting and a camera if you publish video.
